Project Scope:
This project involved a full renovation of the bathroom and ensuite in a Māori Hill home. The original spaces were dark, dated, and no longer practical for the homeowners. The goal was to create modern, welcoming rooms that complemented the home’s character while maximising light, space, and usability.
Key Objectives:
Transform the bathroom and ensuite into brighter, more spacious rooms with modern design and finishes.
Maintain the character of the home by preserving original rimu details.
Deliver a seamless renovation process by managing trades, materials, and compliance from start to finish.
Incorporate high-quality fixtures, floor-to-ceiling tiling, and a walk-in shower for a timeless yet practical result.
Project Description:
Phase 1: Planning and Preparation
Our first step was to strip out both spaces completely, removing outdated fixtures, fittings, and tiles. Fresh Aqualine GIB was installed, stopped, and painted, providing a clean, strong foundation for the new design.
Phase 2: Renovation and Installation
The design centred around soft, sandy tones that brought warmth to the rooms, making them feel welcoming and timeless. Floor-to-ceiling tiles were laid to enhance the sense of height and space, while modern fixtures—including a spacious walk-in shower—were installed to improve functionality. Throughout the process, care was taken to preserve the original rimu features, ensuring the renovation felt in keeping with the rest of the home.
Phase 3: Final Touches and Completion Once tiling, plumbing, and installation were complete, the spaces were styled with sleek fittings that elevated the overall finish. The ensuite, which had previously felt small and dim, now appears much brighter and more spacious thanks to the updated corner shower and modern colour palette. Both rooms were completed to a high standard, delivering a transformation that balances practicality and modern luxury.
Highlights:
Design Flow: Modern spaces that complement the home’s original character.
Tiling: Floor-to-ceiling tiles in warm, sandy tones create a bright, open feel.
Fixtures: A spacious walk-in shower and modern fittings deliver everyday luxury.
Preservation: Original rimu details retained to keep the home’s unique character intact.
Transformation: Outdated bathrooms reimagined into light, timeless spaces that feel as though they’ve always belonged.
