Project Scope:

This Rosewill bathroom, originally built in the 1990s, was ready for an update. With dated pink tones, a tired layout, and ageing fixtures, it no longer suited the homeowners’ needs or style. The goal was to modernise the space with new fittings and a fresh colour scheme while keeping the home’s natural rimu features to maintain its warmth and character.

Key Objectives:

  • Redesign the layout to improve functionality and flow.

  • Replace the old bath, vanity, and fittings with modern, efficient fixtures.

  • Introduce a new, contemporary colour palette that complements the home’s timber details.

  • Deliver a timeless result that feels updated but still in harmony with the rest of the house.

Project Description:

Phase 1: Demolition and Preparation

The renovation began with the removal of the old bath, vanity, and fittings, along with the dated wall colours that made the room feel closed in. The team then prepped the room for its new layout, shifting the vanity to the right-hand wall for better use of space and preparing the area for the installation of a larger shower and back-to-wall bath.

Phase 2: Installation and Design

The transformation really came to life once the new fittings were in place. A 1000x1000 shower provided a sense of space and modern convenience, while the back-to-wall bath offered clean lines and easy maintenance. The new wall-hung vanity helped open the floor area, creating a more balanced and functional layout. The timber flooring was refinished to bring back its natural warmth and texture, and the fresh green wall colour introduced a calm, modern contrast that complements the rimu trim beautifully.

Phase 3: Finishing Touches and Completion

The completed bathroom feels clean, warm, and timeless. Modern fixtures and a refreshed layout brought practicality and style, while the retained timber elements connect the space to the home’s original character. Every step of the project — from demolition to final detailing — was planned and coordinated through TMG Connect’s project management team and trusted trade partners to ensure a smooth process and a high-quality finish.

Highlights:

  • Modern Layout: Vanity repositioned and new shower and bath installed for better functionality.

  • Timber Flooring: Sanded and refinished to highlight the home’s natural warmth.

  • Balanced Design: New green walls paired with original timber trim for a calm, timeless look.

  • Wall-Hung Vanity: Creates a sense of openness and easy cleaning.

  • Seamless Process: All trades coordinated by TMG Connect for a smooth renovation from start to finish.

The Result:

The once-pink, dated bathroom has been completely reimagined into a bright, balanced space that feels both modern and true to the home’s character. The combination of green tones, natural wood, and contemporary fixtures gives the room a timeless quality — a renovation that enhances comfort, functionality, and style.
