Project Scope: This Claremont home’s ensuite was originally divided into three separate areas, creating a cramped and impractical layout. The homeowners wanted a modern, functional space with improved flow, more light, and a design that tied seamlessly into the home’s main bathroom. The project involved a full renovation, from demolition to final detailing, to achieve a bright, spacious, and contemporary ensuite.

Key Objectives:

  • Remove the outdated, segmented layout and create one cohesive, open space.

  • Improve functionality with a spacious shower, streamlined vanity, and better room flow.

  • Incorporate a fresh, modern colour palette with warm earthy tones.

  • Deliver a stress-free renovation by coordinating all trades, compliance, and finishes.

Project Description:

Phase 1: Preparation and Demolition The renovation began with a full strip-out of the existing ensuite, including removal of walls to eliminate the awkward, divided layout. This gave us a clean slate for a fresh layout that would better serve the homeowners’ needs.

Phase 2: Construction and Installation New GIB linings were installed, stopped, and painted to prepare the room for its transformation. Underfloor heating, waterproofing, and tiling followed, laying the groundwork for a durable and modern finish. The new design introduced a single divider wall that subtly separates the toilet and vanity from the shower, improving privacy while keeping the layout open.

Phase 3: Final Fit-Out and Completion The finished ensuite features a spacious 1.8m x 1.1m fully tiled shower, a sleek wall-hung vanity, and a finger tile splashback for added texture. Warm earthy tones, paired with matching tiles and wall colours, create a calming aesthetic that flows naturally into the main bathroom. Careful detailing ensured the space feels modern, cohesive, and practical for everyday living.

Highlights:

  • Layout Transformation: Outdated three-part design reimagined into one cohesive, open space.

  • Spacious Shower: 1.8m x 1.1m tiled shower delivers both style and practicality.

  • Modern Finishes: Wall-hung vanity with finger tile splashback, earthy tones, and coordinated detailing.

  • Seamless Design: Ensuite tied visually to the main bathroom for a consistent home style.

  • Stress-Free Process: All trades, timelines, and compliance managed by TMG Connect for a smooth renovation journey.
