Project Scope: This Pleasant Point kitchen was outdated, closed-in, and no longer meeting the needs of the homeowners. With angled and wing walls restricting flow, the space felt small and impractical. The homeowners wanted a modern, open-plan kitchen that would serve as both a functional workspace and a welcoming hub for family and entertaining.
Key Objectives:
Remove existing walls to open up the space and improve flow.
Install a larger kitchen island for preparation, storage, and social connection.
Replace outdated cabinetry and flooring with modern, durable finishes.
Extend new flooring through the kitchen, dining, and lounge to unify the living areas.
Deliver a transformation that balanced style, practicality, and value.
Project Description:
Phase 1: Demolition and Preparation The project began with a complete strip-out of the old kitchen. To maximise space, we removed a small angled wall at the back and a wing wall that had been closing off the room. These changes created an open footprint ready for the new kitchen layout.
Phase 2: Installation With the room prepared, the new kitchen cabinetry was installed, including a generously sized island that immediately became the focal point of the design. Modern cabinetry provided sleek storage solutions, while upgraded LVT plank flooring was laid through the kitchen, dining, and lounge areas. This not only modernised the kitchen but also tied the entire living space together into one cohesive zone.
Phase 3: Final Touches and Completion Once the plumbing and electrical trades had completed their finishing touches, the transformation was clear: the kitchen was now a spacious, modern hub designed for real living. With improved flow, increased functionality, and a clean, contemporary style, the homeowners gained a space perfect for cooking, entertaining, and everyday family life.
Highlights:
Improved Layout: Wall removals opened the space and enhanced flow.
Kitchen Island: A larger island provides more prep space, storage, and social connection.
Modern Finishes: Sleek cabinetry and LVT plank flooring deliver a stylish, durable result.
Unified Living Space: Flooring extended into dining and lounge areas ties the home together.
Stress-Free Process: Every stage was planned and coordinated by TMG Connect, keeping the project smooth from start to finish.
The Result: What was once a cramped and dated kitchen is now the heart of this Pleasant Point home — open, modern, and seamlessly connected to the dining and lounge. Through careful planning and efficient project management, TMG Connect delivered a kitchen renovation that feels spacious, stylish, and built to last.
